Happy Halloween!!!

Last night we each picked a pumpkin from the store and carved it for Halloween. This was Marcus's first experience gutting out a pumpkin, and I'm not sure he enjoyed it! I don't think he realized all that comes with pumpkin carving and the fact that you will get messy! In the end I think he had a pretty good time.

The kids on the other hand were super excited.  I have never seen Kayden more excited about anything in my life! I couldn't get him to stop talking.  He kept saying "I'm so excited for pumpkins mom and that tomorrow is Halloween!!!" He was simply adorable! I really enjoyed seeing his face light up.  Here are some pictures of our pumpkins:

Doesn't he look thrilled? Not Kayden.......Marcus!

The guts didn't seem to bother Kayden much, he even tasted them!

Marcus decided to do an English Flag on the
other side of his pumpkin.

The kids however thought it looked like a window!

Getting Kayden to go to bed last night was a chore! He could hardly wait for it to be morning.  He made me open the blinds so he could see the sun when he woke up and slept on the side of the bed nearest the window.  It took me about an hour to get him to calm down enough to go to sleep.  I can't get over how incredibly excited he was! He really made my night.  At 4:00am in the morning I woke up to him yelling from his bedroom "MOM, MARCUS, MOM, MARCUS!"  I jumped up and ran in his room.  There he was, sitting straight up in bed, wide awake.  I walked in and he says "Mom, where is the sun, is it Halloween yet?" I tucked him back in and said "Son, Halloween won't come until you GO TO SLEEP!" Of course he was up again at 5:00am, and then by 6:30 he had crawled in to bed next to me.  Luckily I got him to go back to sleep about 7:00am until 8:30am.  When he woke up he came out in full costume ready to go! He says to me "Mom, when's the sun going down, it's time to go trick or treating now!"  I'm afraid it's going to be a long day for this kid!

Ambria was super excited to get into her costume this morning as well.  She decided this year she was going to be a vampire.  We got her dressed, pinned up her hair and sprayed it red.  Then, on to the makeup.  This was her first experience with fake eyelashes. At first I didn't think she would be able to stand them, but after a bit she got used to them.  She insisted we buy her "real" fangs that attach right to her teeth.  I attempted once to put them in and decided perhaps we should wait until the Halloween Parade this afternoon.  I think they may drive her a bit crazy after a while, or even fall out.   She was happy with how her costume turned out and super excited for her parade.

Pintrest

A few weeks ago I heard about Pintrest and decided that I'd sign up not knowing what it was.  I wasn't sure I really liked it at first, but the more I explore, the more I seem to find it interesting.  Really it's just a place people can post random things from photos, to sayings, etc.  Then you can grab what they've posted and repin it wherever you chose (Facebook, Twitter, Blogspot).  Here are a few things I found today that I liked and thought I'd share:

School Update

Well I am more than halfway done with Fall Semester and feeling pretty good.  So far in my class I have an "A" and am ranked 4th out of 90 students.  My midterm went well, and I just handed in my first research paper (patiently awaiting my grade).  Marcus has decided he's dating a "nerd", but hey I'll take it!

I'm really enjoying being back in school, even if it is just one class.  The instructor is brilliant and I love listening to his lectures.  I feel like for the first time in years I'm using my brain and learning something new! That my friends, is a good feeling! I crave information. I couldn't live without feeling like I'm learning and growing in life.  I'm so grateful I'm able to take some classes and get back on track to finally get my Bachelors Degree. It's going to take me a few years, but I am going to finish and I cannot wait! Slowly but surely, I will get there. :)

6 Months

I'm nearly 27 weeks now, just over 6 months.  Time has really flown by. It's hard to believe in just a few more months we will have a brand new baby boy.  It's really starting to sink in that there is going to be another baby in the house.  I'm getting super excited! I love how babies smell, and the cute little noises the make.   Here is what baby center has to say about where I am at now in this pregnancy:

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

Baby, fetus at 26 weeks - BabyCenter

It's crazy to think he is nearly two pounds now and 14 inches long.  He is going to start beefing up over the next few weeks and getting some of his baby fat! Prepare for my belly to POP! So far I've gained 10 lbs, and I'm sure I have another 10 to go before I am done.  It's not fun getting bigger but it is nice knowing he's a healthy, growing boy.  Here is how I look today:

I have started to get some really strong Braxton Hicks contractions.  They are beginning to last longer and become more frequent.  They say if you have more than 4 in an hour you should be alarmed.  Usually mine aren't in any sort of rythm and are not that frequent.  They are strong however, sometimes causing me to stop what I'm doing and take a few deep breaths.  I joke with Marcus that if they don't stop getting stronger, we may have ourselves a Christmas baby. :) Kayden was 3 weeks early, so I guess that's not all impossible really. I'm hoping he stays growing as long as he can though. I'm in no hurry. I just want him to be healthy. :)

Canada

What a nice weekend we had this past weekend in Canada. This is the first time Marcus and I have been away together (besides the UK) since February of this year so it was very nice just to relax and just enjoy each others company. MUCH needed, and long overdue.

His cousin Melanie's wedding was on Saturday.  It was a beautiful wedding.  She's a very pretty girl with such a cute, bubbly personality.  I really enjoyed getting to know some of his family. It was entertaining listening to them speak Greek and trying some new foods. This was my first trip to Canada as well.  I really liked it because I felt like it was a good mix of English and American.  English candy, American road signs and driving! I felt like I was in America still with the way things looked, but with little things I recognized from the UK as well.  I had a really nice time.

Marcus and I went to see Niagra Falls.  Amazing!. I've never seen anything like that before. I snapped a few photos from my phone below:

Decorating Madness!

I love decorating!!! I'm having a hay day with this house, but there is just so much house that it's hard to feel like I am making any progress.  With my little house I could do a room at a time and you actually noticed a difference. That is not the case with this house. It is massive and needs a lot of decoration. Not to mention I am DYING to paint the walls. The color in here is a greenish gray color and it's so dreery and depressing. It needs something else, something lighter, or color.  It's honestly a gorgeous house with so many angles and fun walls. I can't wait! I just have to keep telling myself that little by little we will get this thing done, and I'll just try and enjoy it along the way. Here are some recent photos:
